Every Ultra shared server runs CloudLinux. On a standard cPanel-on-Apache shared host, one busy site can pin a CPU core or eat all the RAM and drag down every other site on the box. CloudLinux solves that with LVE (Lightweight Virtual Environment), a kernel-level resource cage that gives each cPanel account its own CPU, RAM, I/O, and process-count budget.
The same isolation runs on Ultra 1x, Ultra Unlimited, and Ultra Unlimited Pro. The difference between tiers is the size of the budget, not whether the cage exists. CloudLinux is also what keeps PHP version selection clean: you pin a PHP version per domain and that runs in the account's LVE without touching the kernel or the other tenants.
AccelerateWP is CloudLinux's WordPress optimization layer that ships on every Ultra shared plan. Unlike a regular cache plugin that runs after WordPress has already booted, AccelerateWP intercepts the request earlier in the stack and serves cached pages directly from the web server before PHP runs at all.
It also runs the WordPress object cache in Redis (in-memory, sub-millisecond round-trips) instead of MySQL, converts images to WebP on upload, and prefetches likely-next pages on hover. The configuration lives in cPanel as a single per-site toggle; you do not have to tune cache headers, fight plugin conflicts, or pick a tier of paid optimization to get it.
Redis is an in-memory object store pre-installed on every Ultra shared server. WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento, and any other PHP app that supports Redis-backed object caching can use it to cut database round-trips from milliseconds to sub-millisecond. The Redis daemon is shared across the host but scoped per account at the application layer, so one site cannot read another's keys.
OPcache caches the compiled PHP bytecode itself, which means subsequent requests skip the parse and compile step entirely. Together with LiteSpeed's full-page cache (UltraSpeed caching), the typical PHP app on Ultra serves a warm request in single-digit milliseconds.
Every domain on every Ultra shared plan gets a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate. It auto-installs at provisioning, auto-renews on a 60 to 90 day cycle, and covers the apex domain plus the www. subdomain by default. SSL is included on unlimited domains on Ultra Unlimited and Ultra Unlimited Pro. There is no separate SSL fee, no premium-tier paywall, and no manual CSR step.
CDN is the same story. The integrated CloudFlare CDN ships behind a one-click toggle in cPanel. CloudFlare's standard free tier (300+ edge locations, basic DDoS protection, unlimited cached bandwidth) is the default. If you want CloudFlare Pro features (image optimization, premium WAF rule packs), those remain billed by CloudFlare directly and stay optional.
Every Ultra shared plan ships with JetBackup running daily snapshots and retaining 30 days of restore points. The backups live on separate owned backup infrastructure in a different building, so a single hardware failure on the production host cannot wipe out both copies.
Restores are one click from cPanel. You can restore individual files, individual database tables, individual email accounts, or the entire account. The most common use case is rolling back a botched WordPress plugin update or an accidental file delete; the most useful one is restoring a compromised site to the last clean snapshot. We still recommend keeping your own offsite backup as defense in depth, but the included tier is enough for day-to-day recovery.
Imunify360 is included on every Ultra shared plan: Ultra 1x, Ultra Unlimited, and Ultra Unlimited Pro. Real-time on-access malware scanning, automatic cleanup of detected files, a hardened WAF rule set, and brute-force protection at the cPanel and FTP layers. The scanner watches file writes as they happen, so a backdoor planted by a compromised plugin gets caught the moment it lands instead of waiting for the next nightly scan.
The hardened WAF blocks known attack patterns at the web-server layer before they reach PHP or your database. Brute-force protection automatically rate-limits and bans IPs hammering the cPanel login, FTP login, and SSH login. The protection ships configured and turned on by default. There is nothing to subscribe to and nothing to set up.
Free site migration is included on every shared plan: Ultra 1x, Ultra Unlimited, and Ultra Unlimited Pro. After signup, open a support ticket with your current host's cPanel login (or FTP and database credentials if it is not cPanel) and our technicians handle the file copy, database export/import, mail accounts, and DNS records.
Timing depends on site size and the DNS cutover step at your registrar. A small WordPress brochure site can be staged the same business day. A multi-gigabyte site with thousands of media files and large databases takes longer. We stage the new copy on a temporary URL first, test it, then coordinate the DNS cutover with you to minimize downtime. WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, OpenCart, static HTML, and most cPanel-to-cPanel scenarios are supported.
Ultra support is staffed by US-based technicians with actual hosting backgrounds, not a third-party callcenter. The 12-minute average first-response time is measured across all support tickets during business hours, and live chat sits typically in single-digit minutes. Tickets, live chat, and phone all funnel to the same team, so the path you choose does not change who answers.
Ultra Unlimited Pro accounts get a priority queue placement on the same team. That does not mean other tickets get deprioritized, it means Pro accounts get answered earlier inside the same response window. Around-the-clock coverage runs 24/7/365.

Ultra 1x hosts a single website on standard 1x Xeon CPU at $3.95/mo. Ultra Unlimited adds unlimited websites and unlimited email accounts on the same hardware tier at $6.95/mo. Ultra Unlimited Pro raises CPU performance to 3x Xeon and includes a dedicated IP address at $9.95/mo. Every tier has 50 GB SSD storage, unlimited bandwidth, the same 150,000 inode budget, the same cPanel/CloudLinux stack, Imunify360 real-time malware scanning + WAF, and the same 45-day money-back guarantee.
Unlimited means there is no artificial cap on the count of websites, email accounts, MySQL databases, FTP accounts, or addon domains. The real ceilings are the published technical limits: 50 GB SSD disk, 150,000 inodes (file count), and the CloudLinux per-account CPU and RAM budget. Most customers run multiple small to mid-size sites comfortably within these limits. We do not throttle or surcharge for high site counts as long as you stay within the published disk, inode, and CPU/RAM budgets.
No. Ultra 1x is intentionally scoped to one primary website. You can run subdomains and parked domains, but the addon domain count is one. If you need to host a second site, upgrade to Ultra Unlimited (or Pro) and the change is instant from your client area with no downtime.
CloudLinux LVE (Lightweight Virtual Environment) is a kernel-level resource isolation layer that gives each cPanel account its own CPU, RAM, I/O, and process budget. On a regular cPanel-on-Apache server, one noisy neighbor can starve every other site on the box. With CloudLinux LVE, each account is capped at its allocation so a runaway WordPress plugin on another site cannot drag yours down. Ultra runs CloudLinux on every shared server.
Regular cache plugins (WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, etc.) run in PHP after WordPress has already booted. AccelerateWP is CloudLinux's full-stack optimization that runs object cache in Redis (in-memory, sub-millisecond), serves cached pages directly from the web server before PHP touches them, converts images to WebP, and prefetches likely-next pages. Everything is configured per-site from cPanel with no plugin tuning required. AccelerateWP is included on every Ultra Unlimited and Unlimited Pro plan.
Yes. CloudFlare's standard free tier (300+ edge locations, unlimited bandwidth, free SSL, basic DDoS protection) is integrated into cPanel via a one-click toggle. No add-on subscription, no premium tier required to use it. The integration is the same on Ultra 1x, Unlimited, and Pro. CloudFlare Pro features (image optimization, WAF rule packs, etc.) remain optional and are billed by CloudFlare directly if you choose to upgrade on their side.
Every domain on every Ultra shared plan gets a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate that auto-installs at provisioning, auto-renews every 60 to 90 days, and covers the apex domain plus www. subdomain by default. The same applies to unlimited domains on Ultra Unlimited and Ultra Unlimited Pro. There is no separate SSL fee, no premium-tier paywall, and no manual CSR step. If you need an Extended Validation or organization-validated SSL for a specific business or compliance use case, those are available as a paid add-on.
Yes, Ultra 1x can run a small WooCommerce store and many customers do. The practical performance ceiling on Ultra 1x is roughly a low-volume catalog (a few hundred SKUs) with steady but moderate traffic. For larger catalogs, higher concurrent checkout volume, or stores that need uninterrupted cart sessions during traffic spikes, Ultra Unlimited Pro (3x Xeon CPU + dedicated IP) is the better fit. WooCommerce stores that exceed shared hosting's CPU and concurrency budget should look at Ultra Managed VPS.
Move from Ultra 1x or Unlimited to Ultra Unlimited Pro when you need 3x Xeon CPU performance or a dedicated IP. Move from any shared plan to VPS when you need full root access, custom kernel modules, headless apps that need to bind to non-cPanel ports, or guaranteed dedicated CPU and RAM rather than CloudLinux-enforced caps. If your site is just outgrowing the CPU budget on shared and the rest of the stack is fine, Pro is the cheaper and simpler upgrade.
Ultra shared hosting renewal prices match introductory prices. The Ultra 1x plan that signs up at $3.95/mo renews at $3.95/mo. Same for Unlimited at $6.95/mo and Unlimited Pro at $9.95/mo. There is no hidden second-year price hike. Promotional discounts (such as the 30% off new-order coupon) apply to the first term only and are honored at signup, not at renewal.
Yes. Every shared hosting plan ships with a 45-day money-back guarantee. Request a refund from the client area within 45 days of signup for a full refund of the hosting charge. Domain registration fees are non-refundable since the domain is registered on your behalf and paid to the registry. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method. See the refund policy for full terms.
PHP 7.x and 8.x are selectable per domain from cPanel's MultiPHP Manager. We track upstream supported versions; end-of-life PHP versions are eventually retired with advance notice. Apps that need a specific PHP version (Magento 2.4 on PHP 8.2, WordPress on PHP 8.1, etc.) can pin the per-domain version without affecting other sites on the account.
No. Root SSH on a shared box would break the CloudLinux isolation that protects every other tenant. Each cPanel account does get its own user-level SSH access, which covers Git, Composer, npm, WP-CLI, rsync, scp, sftp, and most day-to-day developer workflows. If you specifically need root, look at Ultra Managed VPS or a dedicated server, both of which include full root and SSH.
Imunify360 is included on every Ultra shared plan: Ultra 1x, Ultra Unlimited, and Ultra Unlimited Pro. Every tier gets real-time on-access malware scanning, automatic cleanup of detected files, the Imunify360 WAF rule set, and brute-force protection on the cPanel, FTP, and SSH login layers. There is no add-on subscription, no per-account upgrade, and no tier paywall.
Cron jobs are unlimited on every shared plan. The practical guidance is to avoid running jobs at intervals shorter than every 5 minutes (more frequent than that is rarely useful and trips watchdog limits). Long-running cron scripts that exceed CloudLinux per-account CPU caps will be killed by the resource limiter, which is by design.
150,000 inodes on every shared plan. An inode is a file or directory entry. Typical WordPress sites use 20,000 to 60,000 inodes including the WP core, plugins, themes, and uploaded media. Most customers never get close to the cap. The most common cause of hitting the inode limit is leaving years of uncompressed log files, abandoned cron output, or massive email accounts (every email is one inode) sitting on the account.
50 GB of pure SSD storage on every shared plan, same on Ultra 1x, Unlimited, and Pro. The storage is direct-attached SSD (no spinning disks, no SATA SSDs sitting next to your I/O queue, no overcommit). Backups are stored on separate backup infrastructure and do not count against your 50 GB.
Daily JetBackup with 30 days of restore points is included on every plan. Restore individual files, databases, or email accounts in one click from cPanel, or restore the entire account if needed. Backups live on separate owned backup infrastructure in a different building so a single hardware failure cannot take out both production and backup. We strongly recommend customers also maintain their own offsite backup as a defense-in-depth practice.
Yes, annual orders on every shared plan include a free .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, or .co domain for the first year. Premium TLDs (.io, .ai, .tech, etc.) are available at the standard registration price. The free domain is also available on the multi-year terms (3-year billing where the introductory price applies).
No setup fees on any shared plan. New orders are provisioned typically within minutes after payment is processed, and the cPanel login details are emailed immediately on activation.
Every shared plan includes Softaculous Code with AI, an agentic AI coding assistant built directly into cPanel. It can read and write files, edit code with targeted changes, debug, refactor, plan multi-step changes, and run shell commands. Bring your own API key for Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Groq, Together AI, Ollama, or any of the eleven supported providers, or use the free OpenCode Zen tier enabled by default. You pay your AI provider directly with no token markup, and conversation history stays under your control. See AI Coding Hosting for the full provider list.
Every tier ships with cPanel, CloudLinux, free SSL, CloudFlare CDN integration, free migration, daily JetBackup, and a 45-day money-back guarantee.
